University of The Bahamas (UB) announces the appointment of Mrs. Monique McFarlane-Bain as University Editor (Interim) effective 1stJanuary 2023.

As the University Editor, Ms. Bain is responsible for ensuring that academic information on the UB website referring to employees, colleges, schools, academic units and programmes is current and accurate; reviewing and updating the University academic catalogue; and reviewing Memoranda of Understanding and student exchange documents with external partners and universities. She will also provide editorial and proofreading support for special projects, events and initiatives, as assigned, among other duties and responsibilities.

Mrs. McFarlane-Bain began her career at University of The Bahamas, then College of The Bahamas, in the fall of 1998 as an adjunct professor in the School of English Studies. A year later, she was hired in a full-time capacity to coordinate the work of the Language Resource Centre (LRC). Mrs. McFarlane-Bain has also served the institution through her participation in a number of university-wide committees and boards, support of outreach and community initiatives and through the instruction of many writing courses.

She has a Master’s Degree in Adult Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Florida International University.
