An endowed gift requires the gift principal be held in perpetuity with the income only being used to fund the specific intent. Create an endowment in honour of a professor, student, relative, or friend. The endowment will permanently benefit UB and its constituents while confirming in a generous and thoughtful way your recognition of someone’s life and accomplishments. Contact us to learn more.

Scholarships are financial awards given to a student on the basis of academic achievement and promise. Many of the scholarships awarded at UB are based on merit, but a good portion of them also take into account financial need. Whether endowed or direct, scholarship awards are crucial to ensuring that UB students access higher education and are empowered to achieve their educational goals. Learn more by contacting us.

University of The Bahamas Annual Fund is at the heart of student support. Donations to the fund provide student scholarships, modern classrooms, laboratory equipment and many other teaching and learning essentials that our students need.  Annual funds help great institutions keep the cost of education affordable by providing extra support for operations, basic needs and unexpected contingencies. Enduring gift commitments enable UB faculty, staff and students to embrace opportunities and meet challenges beyond the institution’s current budgetary confines. Contact us to learn more.

The Matching Gift Initiative doubles the dollar impact of donations from employees of participating companies, enabling donors to increase their own contributions and enticing others to become donors. Multiply your generosity through your employer’s matching gift programme. Be the first to suggest the matching gift programme to your employer and create twice the impact of your annual gift to UB. Learn more.

A planned gift is any major gift, made in lifetime or at death as part of overall financial or estate planning. Whether you use cash, securities or stock, real estate, artwork, or some other mechanism, funding a planned gift can make your charitable giving secure and lasting. Gifts wisely planned help meet your charitable and financial objectives and help UB plan and strategize into the future. Contact us to learn more.

The philanthropic funding of private and community foundations makes a tremendous difference in The Bahamas and the wider world and, through the careful selection of causes, foundations are also making a difference at UB. We can partner with your foundation to determine exactly the right opportunity, one that fits and furthers your mission and our own:  to drive national development and build character through teaching, learning, research, scholarship and service. USD and CAD donations to UB may receive tax benefits through donations to respective foundations. Learn more by contacting us.

UB accepts gifts via cash, cheque, credit card, or in-kind. Real estate or life insurance policy assignments are also welcomed forms of giving to UB.
