FOR THE OPERATION OF CAFÉ BLU

UNIVERSITY OF THE BAHAMAS NORTH (UB NORTH)

FREEPORT, GRAND BAHAMA

University of The Bahamas (UB), through its Business Enterprise Unit, invites qualified and experienced food service operators to submit proposals for the operation of Café Blu, a café-style food and beverage concession located at UB North in Freeport, Grand Bahama. The selected operator will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the café, including menu development, staffing, food preparation, and financial reporting. The café will serve approximately 500 members of the UB North community, including students, faculty, staff, and visitors. UB seeks a professional operator capable of delivering high-quality beverages, light meals, and grab-and-go food options in a welcoming environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Interested proponents should:

  1. Submit a complete proposal in accordance with the RFP requirements.
  2. Demonstrate experience operating cafés, restaurants, or similar food service establishments.
  3. Provide references from similar operations.
  4. Demonstrate operational and financial capacity to manage the concession.
  5. Demonstrate the ability to operate within the operational limitations of the Café Blu space, which does not include a full commercial kitchen.

 

Objectives of the Concession:
The university seeks to:

  1. Provide high-quality food and beverage service to the UB North community.
  2. Enhance the student experience through on site meal availability.
  3. Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and professionalism.
  4. Ensure financially sustainable operations that contribute to the University’s auxiliary services.
