Appointment of Special Assistant to the President

University of The Bahamas announces that Associate Professor Dr. Veronica Ferguson, who currently serves as Dean of Faculty, UB North, has been appointed to the additional role of Special Assistant to the President for a one-year period, effective immediately.
In this capacity, Dr. Ferguson will lead two important initiatives supporting the University’s accreditation efforts: the redesign of the Banner enterprise resource management system, which is central to strengthening the University’s administrative systems, processes and data management, and the implementation of a professional advising centre that will provide incoming freshmen with the guidance and support needed to establish a strong foundation for sustained academic success.
Dr. Ferguson is a dedicated educational leader with 28 years of service to the University, having served in a range of academic leadership roles including Coordinator, Head of Department, Curriculum Developer, Academic Senator, and Dean of Faculty, as well as faculty mentor. Her contributions span academic programme development, faculty recruitment and mentoring, institutional governance, research and student-centred initiatives.
Dr. Ferguson holds a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership and Administration degree from the University of Liverpool, a Master of Science in Leadership and Administration (Hons.) from Butler University, a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with Chemistry from Taylor University and an Associate of Arts degree in General Science and a Teacher’s Certificate, both from the College of The Bahamas.
