STATEMENT FROM THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
20th February 2022
The Board of Trustees of University of The Bahamas (UB) held its Annual Retreat on 18th and 19th February, 2022.
The Retreat commenced with a dinner at “Choices” Training Restaurant which featured a gourmet menu, prepared and served by the culinary team at the, soon-to-be reestablished, School of Tourism, Hospitality, Culinary Arts and Leisure Management. It culminated on 19th February, 2022 with entertainment by the UB Jazz Ensemble, led by Mr. Rodney Simpson of the Music Department. Over the upcoming weeks and months, the Board will continue to heighten its awareness, and increase its support, of the magnificent programmes and opportunities provided by UB.
The outstanding Retreat was facilitated by Dr. Sidney McPhee, President of Middle Tennessee State University and Justice Rubie Nottage (Ret’d). Under consideration were the duties of the Board of Trustees, as provided in the University of The Bahamas Act, the relationship between the Board and the President and the accreditation of University of The Bahamas. The Board is continuing its deliberations that will lead to the selection of the incoming President of University of The Bahamas, and expects to announce the name of that person in short order.
