Vice President, Enrolment Management and Athletics

Vice President of Enrolment Management and Athletics, Dr. Marcella Elliott-Ferguson, is a senior higher-education leader with more than four decades of academic and administrative experience.

Her career at the University began in 1983 when she was appointed lecturer in Mathematics at the former College of The Bahamas. She advanced through academic ranks to Associate Professor, and has served as Head of the Department of Mathematics and Registrar. She also led the development of the University’s Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, demonstrating sustained commitment to academic quality and programme innovation.

Appointed Vice President in 2016, Dr. Elliott-Ferguson has provided strategic oversight for enrolment management, institutional research, financial aid and scholarships, admissions, the Registrar’s Office, and athletics. Her leadership integrates data-informed planning, budgeting, and student-centred services in ways that serve student success and drive the institution’s strategic priorities.

She holds a PhD in Education (Mathematics and Science Education), and an MBA in Management both from the University of Miami, as well as a BSc in Mathematics from McGill University and an Associate of Science Degree in Physics with Mathematics from the former College of The Bahamas. She also earned other professional certifications.
