Appointment of Interim Dean of Students

University of The Bahamas announces the appointment of Mr. Darvin Toussaint as Interim Dean of Students at the Oakes Field Campus.
In this capacity, Mr. Toussaint has primary responsibility for creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, and supportive environment and culture that blends the intellectual, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual development of students. He will provide operational direction and coordination for the Health Services, Residence Life, Campus Life, Intramural Sports, and Student Leadership departments as well as the Wellness Centre. He will also develop and coordinate student activities policies and procedures; and serve on committees and task forces for strategic and operational planning related to student affairs.
The Director of Campus Life at UB with an almost 20-year career at the institution, Mr. Toussaint has served as Clerk, Senior Clerk, Admissions Assistant and Assistant Director in the Office of Admissions, currently the Office of Recruitment and Admissions. He has also served as Acting Vice President of Student Affairs.
He earned a Master of Arts in Higher Education: Student Personnel Administration from The University of the West Indies (2015); a Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Information Systems (2007); and an Associate of Arts in Computer Data Processing (1998), both from the College of The Bahamas. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership: Higher Education with The University of the West Indies.
