University of The Bahamas Announces Appointment of Assistant Provost, Innovation

Dr. Dinipre “Dee” Allen, Assistant Provost, Innovation

University of The Bahamas announces the appointment of Dr. Dinipre “Dee” Allen as Assistant Provost, Innovation.

In this academic leadership role, Dr. Allen – who also serves as Associate Professor – will provide strategic direction for advancing international connections, pedagogical innovation, creating new knowledge, and building strong impactful partnerships. These objectives are integral to the University’s mission and strategic priorities, especially as it pursues national and international accreditation.

Dr. Allen brings over 25 years of experience spanning law, business, and higher education. She began her career as a lawyer in London before co-founding a training and development company and later transitioning into academia. From 2011 to 2020, she served as a Senior Lecturer and Course Director in Business and Entrepreneurship at the University of Gloucestershire where she continues to supervise doctoral students. She later led the Doctor of Business Administration programme at Teesside University as a Senior Lecturer/Doctoral Course Director in Fintech and Financial Innovation.

Most recently, Dr. Allen was Head of Capacity Building and Education at the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF), University of Cambridge Judge Business School. As a member of the Executive Team of the CCAF, she spearheaded the strategy, design, delivery, and evaluation of various online education programmes including the global Cambridge Fintech Regulatory Innovation (CFTRI) programme, through which over 2,500 financial regulators and policymakers from 150 countries have been trained.

A frequent speaker at international Fintech and policy forums, Dr. Allen also serves as a board member of the Alliance of Digital Finance and Fintech Associations and remains an Academic Advisor/Research Affiliate to the CCAF. She actively collaborates with academic and development agencies, as well as regulatory institutions in the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia on education and research in Fintech, entrepreneurship, AI and regulatory innovation.

Dr. Allen is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy, holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice, and is a CIPD Chartered Fellow, recognised for her expertise in training and development. She earned an LLB and LLM from SOAS, University of London, and completed additional studies in international finance and economic law at King’s College and the London School of Economics. Her PhD research explored SME entrepreneurship, leadership, and organisational behaviour through a case study of a multinational social impact Fintech.
