Felicity Humblestone Appointed Associate Vice President of Development and Grants

Nassau, THE BAHAMAS — University of The Bahamas (UB) has announced the appointment of Ms. Felicity A. Humblestone as Associate Vice President of Development and Grants, effective 4thOctober 2021. Ms. Humblestone brings a wealth of experience and expertise in non-profit management, fundraising, programme development, grant making, talent management, and leadership.
A member of the Institutional Advancement and Alumni Affairs team, reporting to the Vice President, she is responsible for establishing, cultivating, and sustaining relationships with individuals, corporations, and foundations to secure funding and support for UB. She will work in close partnership with university constituents to develop and implement strategies for enhanced fundraising. This will be done in alignment with the university’s strategic plan.
“I am thrilled to be able to return to an expanding University of The Bahamas and grateful to reconnect with former colleagues, and meet new ones, within Institutional Advancement and Alumni Affairs,” said Ms. Humblestone. “I look forward to the work ahead to provide as much as we can in resource support for UB’s success.”
Ms. Humblestone has a degree in Hispanic Studies & Linguistics from McMaster University and worked in University Advancement there as a Prospect Researcher. She also served as the Director of Alumni Relations & Development at the former College of The Bahamas (COB). At Lyford Cay Foundations, she was the Programme Director of FOCUS, a tuition-free college access programme for public school students. In 2018, she was appointed Executive Director of Lyford Cay Foundations, a position she held for three years.
“With the addition of Ms. Humblestone to the team, we have completed the equation for UB to enter into the world of fundraising on a broader level, both at home and abroad,” UB President Dr. Rodney D. Smith said.
Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Affairs Dino Hernandez explained that the appointment is relevant and timely, given impending plans.
“We are all so fortunate to welcome Ms. Humblestone back to University of The Bahamas. Her core strengths as a leader and developing philanthropic relationships throughout The Bahamas as well as in North America are incredible assets for UB,” said Mr. Hernandez. “We are preparing for a multi-year campaign that will also focus on rebuilding the UB-North Campus in Grand Bahama after Hurricane Dorian. Her return could not have come at a better time.”
Ms. Humblestone is a former volunteer facilitator and co-organizer for Character Day Bahamas, and has served on the Education Committee for the Organization for Responsible Governance (ORG) Bahamas and the National Food Distribution Task Force. She is also a member of International Women’s Forum (IWF), Bahamas Chapter.
