Nassau – THE BAHAMAS: How does one increase the prospect of living a life of fulfilment, discipline, excellence and enduring impact? Former NFL player, Rhodes Scholar and neurosurgeon Dr. Myron Rolle spent time recently at University of The Bahamas (UB) and shared the philosophy that he credits with helping him to evolve and thrive in his personal, academic and professional endeavours. Dr. Rolle’s incredible story of triumphs over adversity, transformation and thought-provoking reflections are revealed in his new book “The 2% Way: How a Philosophy of Small Improvements Took Me to Oxford, the NFL, and Neurosurgery”.

He gave a glimpse of his book through a reflective conversation with UB alum Kyle Walkine at “An Evening with Dr. Myron Rolle” hosted at UB’s Oakes Field Campus on Thursday 9th June. During the conversation, he also explained the aims and objectives of the Myron L. Rolle Foundation that focuses on helping people, health and wellness.

Earlier in the day Dr. Rolle and his wife Dr. Latoya Rolle paid a courtesy call on UB President Dr. Rodney D. Smith during which he presented a copy of his book to Dr. Smith. After, UB Librarian Dr. Berthamae Walker then led the Rolles on a tour of the Lynden Pindling Room at the Harry C. Moore Library and Information Centre. Dr. Rolle has a number of incredible achievements to his credit. He earned a scholarship to a prestigious private high school and became a top-rated recruit at Florida State University; earned the Rhodes Scholarship to study at Oxford; played football in the NFL and then became a neurosurgery resident at Harvard.
