Appointment of Executive Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations

Nassau, THE BAHAMAS – University of The Bahamas (UB) announces the appointment of Ms. Kandice Eldon as Executive Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations in the Division of Institutional Advancement. Ms. Eldon reports to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Alumni Affairs and will oversee the new Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations.
With a strong acumen for relationship building, Ms. Eldon will establish, cultivate and sustain partnerships with corporate and foundation prospects to secure funding and continuous support for University of The Bahamas. Additionally, she will manage a portfolio of prospects and work in close partnership with University leadership to develop and implement strategies to secure funding and increase student support in alignment with the University’s strategic plan. The Executive Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations will also work with members of the University’s Board of Trustees as well as U.S., Canadian and Bahamian foundation board members to develop strategies for corporate and foundation prospects.
As the UBFIT Organizing Chair and Honorary Co-Chair, Ms. Eldon and the team have successfully raised more than $150,000 through corporate sponsorship, race registration and in-kind donations since the race’s inception in 2017. These donations have augmented the University’s Annual Fund, capacity for special needs mobility enhancements at the University and Hurricane Dorian relief efforts.
Ms. Eldon is the former Director of Communications in the Office of University Relations at UB, and has also served as Assistant Director of Campus Communications and Writer News and Publications at the University. She launched her career at the leading ABC news affiliate in Atlanta, Georgia (WSB-TV) as a Special News Researcher for an Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter. She then served as a television reporter and producer for a local government station and managed public relations strategies for the Chief Executive Officer and Chief of Police of DeKalb County, Atlanta, Georgia. Her role expanded when she became a certified customer service trainer for the State of Georgia and Public Information Officer at Georgia Emergency Management Agency under former Governor, Sonny Perdue.
Ms. Eldon earned a Master of Science in Human Resource Development from Barry University (2020) and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications and Spanish (Magna Cum Laude) from Campbell University (2001).
She is an avid runner, painter, philanthropist and proud mother of two sons.
