Academic Affairs Contingencies

University Community,

Please be advised that UB’s transition to online instruction is to facilitate continuity in the delivery of course content. The implementation of other interim measures is also necessary to ensure the fulfilment of academic requirements.

Continuity in Teaching

At UB-North in Grand Bahama, classes will continue uninterrupted online via Moodle.

Also effective on Monday, 16th March, faculty at the Oakes Field Campus who were already delivering courses online will continue to do so uninterrupted.

All other faculty are now required to use the week beginning Monday, 16th March to complete the process of migrating all lecture courses to an online format so that by Monday, 23rd March these courses will be available on Moodle.

Laboratory and Practicum Courses

By Friday, 20th March, an announcement regarding the status of laboratory and practicum classes will be communicated.

Teaching Practice, Kitchen Classes and Internships

Please be advised that effective immediately, teaching practice, kitchen classes and internships are suspended until further notice.

Final Examinations

Faculty and students will be advised of the arrangements for all final examinations at a later date. 

Placement Examination

Please be advised that the placement examination for applicants seeking admission to the University has been suspended until further notice.

Testing Services

External examinations scheduled for Monday, 16th March will continue as scheduled. Those exams scheduled over the course of the next three weeks are suspended until further notice. An announcement regarding new scheduling will be made at a later date.

Although University libraries are closed until further notice, library resources are accessible online at
