Practicum Classes and Library Services

The University community is advised that effective Wednesday 16th September 2020, select practicum classes as well as computer labs and library services (curbside pick-up) will resume at the Oakes Field Campus and Grosvenor Close Centre.
Students who report to campus will be required to comply with all health protocols including the wearing of face masks, undergoing temperature checks before entry, 6 feet physical distancing and proper and thorough hand sanitizing.
Practicum courses scheduled to resume effective 16th September include:
- Architecture and Art Studio Laboratories
- Physics and Technology Laboratories
- Culinary Kitchen and Dining Room classes (Spring 2020 classes recommenced on Friday, 11th September).
- Physical Education Practicum Courses
- Nursing laboratory courses
- MUSI 375 and MUSI 376
Theoretical and lecture classes are continuing virtually. Students who prefer not to attend classes on-site may request an Incomplete (I) grade by Friday 25th September 2020.
Internship and Fieldwork Courses
These courses will be handled on a case-by-case basis contingent upon the respective business establishment. Students should contact their course instructor for details.
Nursing Internships, Practicums and Clinical Rounds
These courses remain suspended until further notice.
Teaching practice also remains suspended until further notice.
Culinary Practicum Classes
Practicum classes for Fall 2020 will begin later this month at a date to be announced.
On Wednesday, 16th September 2020, University of The Bahamas Libraries will begin a phased resumption of its services commencing with curbside pickup service only for circulating items from the libraries’ print collections (with the exception of books from the Special Collections) at the Harry C. Library staff will operate on a rotating shift system Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. to fulfil loan requests for print resources.
