The largest leadership society in the United States, the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) is an international honour society for students who have excelled academically. The Society focuses on leadership development, networking and community engagement with an aim to ‘build leaders who make a better world.’

Students are selected for NSLS membership by their college/university based on their academic standing, that is, a GPA of 3.00 or higher, or their leadership potential. Through participation at UB or online, the Society provides a step-by-step programme to help members develop their potential and build their leadership skills. Upon completion of the programme, members receive their leadership certificate and take their place among the top student leaders at UB and across the United States (US). Members are able to list their NSLS affiliation on all statements of personal accomplishments, including their resume.

NSLS has 541 chapters worldwide and 615,742 members in the US alone. UB’s chapter has more than 150 active members who are engaged in 20 hours of community service per semester, success networking teams and three speaker broadcasts with internationally acclaimed leaders, such as Arianna Huffington and Rudy Giuliani, former Mayor of New York. All of these components help to build their leadership proficiency.

Membership in NSLS is for life and provides access to benefits including exclusive UB on-campus events as well as scholarship and award opportunities, employer recruitment through an online job bank, discounts on computers, textbooks, graduate school prep courses, insurance and much more in the United States.
