Buddy Hield Partners with University of The Bahamas

On Monday, 22nd July University President Dr. Rodney D. Smith and Bahamian basketball community builder Buddy Hield of the Sacramento Kings announced a special partnership to increase sporting capacity and access to education at UB. Prior to this announcement, was the opening ceremony for Buddy’s Elite 24 Basketball Clinic held at the Kendal G. L. Isaacs Gymnasium.  Twenty-four high school students considered to be among the best in the country were selected to be trained by professional basketball players and coaches expose the high school players to the rigors of high-level basketball.

The basketball camp included a full week of activities supported by key sponsors and UB leadership including Vice President of Institutional Advancement Dino Hernandez; UB Athletics Director Kimberly Rolle; Assistant Director Sean Bastian; Head Athletic Trainer Sasha Johnson and Public Relations and Branding Coordinator Renbert Mortimer.  At the end of the week-long camp, Bimini native Bradley Lightbourne was announced as the UB Mingoes Scholarship recipient.
