Deferred Payment Plan (DPP)

UB offers a short-term instalment payment plan to help students cover the cost of tuition and fees.  Bahamian citizens or residents who are in good financial standing may apply for this assistance.  Students pay the non-refundable processing fee and one-third of the total bill with the remaining balance due in two instalments over a two-month period.

  • Applicants pay a non-refundable processing fee of $50.00 per application.
  • DPP recipients make:
    • an initial payment of 1/3 of the total bill for the current semester.
    • subsequent payments of 2/3 of the deferred balance in two monthly instalments:

New students: the deferred balance is due in two equal subsequent monthly instalments not later than September 30 and October 31 for students admitted in the fall semester and January 31 and February 28 for students admitted in the spring semester.

Returning students: the deferred balance is due in two equal subsequent monthly instalments beginning from the time of the initial payment.

  • A $50.00 penalty fee is charged each month on all late or incomplete payments.
  • There is no prepayment penalty and no interest charge.
  • Applicants pay a non-refundable processing fee of $50.00 per application.
  • The total tuition for one academic year is divided into 10 installment payments with monthly payments due from August to May.
  • DPP recipients make:
  • For students enrolled in graduate programmes which require an off-island component, the final payment is due prior to the start date of the component.
    • an initial payment of 28% of the tuition for the current academic year;

DPP recipients who:

  • withdraw from or drop a course are responsible for paying the tuition and fees for the course.
  • wish to withdraw from all courses must ensure the deferred balance is paid in full prior to withdrawal.
